HT 1

Location

When the upper arm is abducted, the point is in the center of the axilla, on the medial side of the axillary artery.

Indication

Cardiac pain, cold pain of the elbow and upper arm, hypochondriac distention, dryness of the throat.

Notes

 

HT 2

Location

When the elbow is flexed, the point is 3 cun above the medial end of the transverse cubital crease Shaohai (H3), in the groove medial to m. biceps brachii.

Indication

Pain in the cardiac and hypochondriac regions, shoulder and arm.

Notes

 

HT 3

Location

With arm fully flexed, at end of cubital crease on ulnar side.

Indication

Toothache with fever, convulsion of hand, spasmodic pain in elbow, mania, cardiac pain, forgetfulness.

Notes

Sooths heart-qi, clears the vessels, calms the spirit, remove phlegm.

HT 4

Location

When the palm faces upward, the point is on the radial side of the tendon of m. flexor carpi ulnaris, 1.5 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist.

Indication

Cardiac pain, spasmodic pain of the elbow and arm, sudden loss of voice, schizophrenia.

Notes

 

HT 5

Location

When the palm faces upward, the point is on the radial side of the tendon of m. flexor carpi ulnaris, 1 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist.

Indication

Headache, blurring of vision, sore throat, reddish face, sudden loss of voice, enuresis, uterine bleeding, palpitation, schizophrenia.

Notes

Calms spirit, checks endogenous wind, harmonizes nourishing qi.

HT 6

Location

When the palm faces upward, the point is on the radial side of the tendon of m. flexor carpi ulnaris, 0.5 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist.

Indication

Palpitation, cardiac pain, hysteria, night sweating, hemoptysis, epistaxis, sudden loss of voice.

Notes

Clears heart-heat away, lowers vacant yang, strengthens the superficial resistance.

HT 7

Location

At the ulnar end of the transverse crease of the wrist, in the depression on the radial side of the tendon of m. flexor carpi ulnaris.

Indication

Cardiac pain, irritability, palpitation, hysteria, amnesia, insomnia, mania, epilepsy, dementia, pain in the hypochondriac region, feverish sensation in the palm, yellowish sclera.

Notes

Calms the spirit, clears heart-heat, regulates adverse flow of qi.

HT 8

Location

When the palm faces upward, the point is between the fourth and fifth metacarpal bones. When the fist is made, the point is where the tip of the little finger rests.

Indication

Palpitation, pain in the chest, spasmodic pain of the little finger, feverish sensation in the palm, enuresis, dysuria, pruritus of the external genitalia.

Notes

Regulates heart-qi, clears inner heat.

HT 9

Location

On the radial side of the little finger, about 0.1 cun posterior to the corner of the nail.

Indication

Cardiac pain, hypochondriac pain, palpitation, mania, sore throat, febrile diseases, loss of consciousness, ¹øÁ¶ºÒ¾È.

Notes

Restroes consciousness, drains pathogenic heat.
