C. Acupoints

KI 1

Location

On sole, in depression when foot in plantar flexion, at junction of anterior third and posterior two thirds of sole.

Indication

headache, blurring of vision, dizziness, sore throat, dryness of tongue, loss of voice, dysuria, infantile convulsions, feverish sensation in sole, loss of consciousness.

Notes

Opens sensory orifices, calms the Spirit.

KI 2

Location

Anterior and inferior to the medial malleolus, in the depression on the lower border of the tuberosity of the navicular.

Indication

Sterility, prolapse of uterus, irregular menstruation, irritability, nocturnal emission, hemoptysis, thirst, diarrhea, impotence, swelling and pain of the dorsum of foot, acute infantile omphalitis.

Notes

Clears heat in kidney, regulates lower energizer.

KI 3

Location

In depression between medial malleolus and tendon calcaneus, at level with tip of medial malleolus.

Indication

SoCVess in low leg, sore throat, toothache, cardiac pain, constipation, coldness in hands and feet, frequency of micturition, pain in the lower back.

Notes

Benefits Kidney-yin, cools false heat, stCVgthens Lower Back and Knee, reinforces primordial yang.

KI 4

Location

Posterior and inferior to the medial malleolus, in the depression medial to the attachment of tendon calcaneus.

Indication

Asthma, sore throat, stiffness and pain of the lower back, dysuria, constipation, pain in the heel, dementia.

Notes

Regulates the Kidney and blood, invigorates mental activities.

KI 5

Location

1 cun directly below K 3 in the depression anterior and superior to the medial side of the tuberosity of the calcaneum

Indication

Amenorrhea, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrrhea, prolapse of uterus, dysuia, blurring of vision.

Notes

Controls menstruation

KI 6

Location

In depression of lower border of medial malleolus, or 1 cun below medial malleolus.

Indication

Sore throat, irregular menses, prolapse of uterus, pruritus vulvae, frequency of micturition, retention of urine, constipation, epilepsy, insomnia, asthma.

Notes

Regulates menstruation and nourishing qi, drains fire, sooths the depressed qi, benefits the throat

KI 7

Location

2 Cun directly above K 3 on anterior border of tendon-calcaneus.

Indication

Edema, abdominal distension, diarrhea, borborygmus, muscular atrophy of leg, night sweating, spontaneous sweating, febrile diseases without sweating.

Notes

Leads to urinary bladder, removes dampness, nourishes kidney to moisten dryness

KI 8

Location

0.5 cun anterior to K 7, 2 cun above K 3 posterior to the medial border of tibia.

Indication

Irregular menstruation, leukorrhea, uterine bleeding, prolapse of uterus, diarrrhea, constipation, pain and swelling of testis, night sweating.

Notes

 

KI 9

Location

5 cun directly above K 3 at the lower end of the belly of m. gastrocnemius, on the line drawn from K 3 to K 10.

Indication

Mental disorders, pain in medial lower leg.

Notes

 

KI 10

Location

When the knee is flexed, the point is on the medial side of the popliteal fossa, between the tendons of m. semitendinosus and semimembranosus, at level of B 40.

Indication

Pain in knee joint, impotence, leukorrhea, hernia, uterine bleeding, dysuria, mental disorders.

Notes

Removes dampness to make diuresis, clears heat to nourish kidney

KI 11

Location

5 cun below the umbilicus, on the superior border of symphysis pubis, 0.5 cun lateral to CV 2.

Indication

Distention of the lower abdomen, mense disorder, dysuria, enuresis, nocturnal emission, impotence, pain of genitalia.

KI 12

Location

4 cun below the umbilicus, 0.5 cun lateral to CV 3.

Indication

Nocturnal emission due to deficiency, impotence, pain in penis, leukorrhea, prolapse of uterus.

Notes

 

KI 13

Location

Nocturnal emission due to deficiency, impotence, pain in penis, leukorrhea, prolapse of uterus.

Indication


Irregular mentruation, dysmenorrhea, dysuria, abdominal pain, diarrhea.
