LU 1

Location

Laterosuperior to the sternum at the lateral side of the first intercostal space, 6 cun lateral to GV meridian.

Indication

Cough, asthma, pain in chest, shoulder and back, fullness of the chest.

Notes

Clears upper energizer, regulates lung qi

LU 2

Location

In the depression below the acromial extremity of the clavicle, 6 cun lateral to GV meridian.

Indication

Short breath, cough, asthma, pain in the chest, shoulder and arm, fullness of the chest.

Notes

 

LU 3

Location

On the medial aspect of the upper arm, 3 cun below the end of the axillary fold, on the radial side of the biceps brachii.

Indication

Asthma, epistaxis, pain in the medial aspect of the upper arm

Notes

 

LU 4

Location

On the medial aspect of the upper arm, 1 cun below LU 3 on the radial side of the biceps brachii.

Indication

Cardiac pain, short breath, cough, vomiting, nasal bleeding.

Notes

 

LU 5

Location

On the cubital crease, on the radial side of the tendon of m. biceps brachii. Found with the elbow slightly flexed.

Indication

Cough, hemoptysis, asthma, sore throat, fullness in the chest, infantile convulsions, pain of the elbow and arm.

Notes

Drains heat in the lungs, supresses rebellious qi.

LU 6

Location

On the palmar aspect of the forearm, on the line joining LU9 and LU 5, 7 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist. (Or, 5 cun below the cubital crease)

Indication

Febrile disease with anhidrosis, cough, asthma, hemoptysis, headache, sore throat, pain of the arm.

Notes

Moistenes lung, regulates and supresses rebellious Lung Qi, cools heat, and stops bleeding.

LU 7

Location

Superior to the styloid process of the radius, 1.5 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist.

Indication

Deviation of the mouth, hemiplegia, cough, feverish sensation in the palms, hematuria, emission, headache, neck rigidity, sore throat, facial paralysis, toothache, pain and weakness of the wrist.

Notes

Disperses and clears lung-heat, benefits throat.

LU 8

Location

1 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist, in the depression on the lateral side of the radial artery. (Or, 1 cun above LU9)

Indication

Cough, asthma, fever, pain in the chest, sore throat, pain in the wrist.

Notes

 

LU 9

Location

At the radial end of the transverse crease of the wrist, in the depression on the lateral side of the radial artery.

Indication

Toothache, chest pain, asthma, hemoptysis, sore throat, palpitation, feverish sensation in palms, pain in the chest, wrist and arm.

Notes

Eliminates wind, transforms phlegm, regulates lungs, stops coughing.

LU 10

Location

On the radial aspect of the midpoint of the first metscarpal bone, on the junction of red and white skin.

Indication

Cough, hemoptysis, sore throat, loss of voice, fever, feverish sensation in the palm.

Notes

Sooths lungs, regulates stomach, benefits throat, clears heat in blood.

LU 11

Location

On the radial side of the thumb, 0.1 cun posterior to the corner of the nail.

Indication

Sore throat, cough, asthma, continuous epistaxis, fever, loss of conciousness, mania, spasmodic pain of fingers.

Notes

Flows qi of channel, benefits the pharynx, drains fire of 12channels and revives from fainting.
