SI 1

Location

On the ulnar side of the little finger, about 0.1 cun posterior to the corner of the the nail.

Indication

Headache, febrile diseases, loss of consciousness, insufficient lactation, sore throat, redness of the eye, cloudiness of the cornea. Disperses wind and heat, facilitates the flow of milk.

Notes

Clears heart-heat, disperses accumulated heat.

SI 2

Location

When a loose fist is made, distal to the fifth metacarpo-phalangeal joint, at the end of the transverse crease and the junction of red and white skin.

Indication

Pain in head and neck, eye disease, febrile disease with anhidrosis, sore throat, numbness of fingers, epilepsy, tinnitus.

Notes

 

SI 3

Location

When a loose fist is made, proximal to the fifth metacarpo-phalangeal joint, at the end of the transverse crease and the junction of red and white skin.

Indication

High fever, nasal bleeding, deafness, sore throat, fullness in the chest, night sweating, febrile diseases, nasal obstruction, palsy or convulsion of the finger, mania.

Notes

Removes inner heat, opens GV channels, clears the spirit.

SI 4

Location

On the ulnar side of the palm, in the depression between the base of the fifth metacarpal bone and the triquetral bone.

Indication

Febrile diseases with anhidrosis, headache, rigidity of the neck, contracture of the fingers, pain in the writst, jaundice.

Notes

ReGVces evils in taiyang channel, clears damp-heat in small intestine.

SI 5

Location

At the ulnar end of the transverse crease on the dorsal aspect of the wrist, in the depression between the styloid process of the ulna and the triquetral bone.

Indication

Swelling of the neck and submandibular region, pain of te hand and wrist, febrile diseases.

Notes

 

SI 6

Location

Dorsal to the head of the ulna. When the palm faces the chest, the point is in the bony cleft on the radial side of the the styloid process of the ulna.

Indication

Pain in the shoulder, elbow and arm, abduction disorder of arm, stomachache, poor vision.

Notes

Relaxes muscles, clears channels and vision.

SI 7

Location

1 cun below midpoint lining between SI 5 and SI 8

Indication

Dizziness, spasm and pain in the elbow and fingers, ½Å¿­¼Ò°¥¼±½Ä, mania.

Notes

 

SI 8

Location

When the elbow is flexed, the point is located in the depression between the olecranon of the ulna and the medial epicondyle of the humerus.

Indication

Headache, swelling of the cheek, pain in the nape, shoulder, arm and elbow, epilepsy.

Notes

Disperses evils in taiyang channel, dispels heat-accumulation in small intestine, removes wind.

SI 9

Location

Posterior and inferior to the shoulder joint. When the arm is adGVcted, the point is 1 cun above the posterior end of the axillary fold.

Indication

Swelling gums with fever, lower abdominal pain, deafness, toothache, mania, palsy of radial nerve.

Notes

 

SI 10

Location

When the arm is adGVcted, the point is directly above SI 9, in the depression inferior to the scapular spine.

Indication

Swelling of the shoulder, aching and weakness of the shoulder and arm.

Notes

 

SI 11

Location

In the infrascapular fossa, at the junction of the upper and middle third of the distance between the lower border of the scapular spine and the inferior angle of the scapula.

Indication

Soarness and pain in the shoulder and arm, hypertention, hidrosis, aftermath of CVA.

Notes

Disperses stagnation of qi in hypochondrium.

SI 12

Location

In the center of the suprascapular fossa, directly above SI 11. When the arm is lifted, the point is at the site of the depression.

Indication

Pain in the scapular region, numbness and aching of the upper extremitites, motor impairment of the shoulder and arm.

Notes

 

SI 13

Location

On the medial extremity of the suprascapular fossa, about midway between SI 10 and T-2.

Indication

Pain and stiffness of the scapular region.
